Partner Plus is a business growth programme offering sales and marketing tools, training, expertise - and Partner Plus LIVE.
Find out what happened at the latest event...

Partner Plus LIVE returned to BT Tower on 19 May 2022, showcasing new developments focused on supercharging partners’ growth.

Partners learned how BT Wholesale is working across a number of areas, including connectivity, voice and unified communications, mobile network solutions, digital, all-IP, and professional services.

The team also explored the Partner Plus Hub, the importance of marketing, and why BT Means Business.

Senior BT Wholesale experts led a number of informative sessions before guests enjoyed a special appearance from legendary British athlete Kriss Akabusi MBE.

Here are some highlights from the latest Partner Plus LIVE conference…

Working together

Working together underpins BT Wholesale’s evolving strategy. This includes our major rebranding exercise, structural improvements, and product, service, and support elements.

Empowering our partners, and forming strategic collaborations to support business growth, is our priority.

Partner proximity is a developing aspect of our approach, bringing partners closer to propositions and services. Senior Sales Manager  Carla Barrow told guests that BT Wholesale now operates out of bases across the UK, offering a wider geographical footprint reinforced by more Partner Plus engagement.

She urged delegates to make the most of BT’s experts and resources, and called on partners to provide honest feedback.

Professional marketing support

Partner Plus resellers can now take advantage of white labelled marketing collateral. It’s a timely addition to the programme; Senior Marketing Consultant Christopher Wellbelove DL told Partner Plus Live guests that 78 per cent of businesses taking part in a marketing challenges survey said they experienced a skills shortage.

BT Wholesale’s white label marketing resources offer a ‘campaign in-a-box’ service including sales templates and tools, with new assets added regularly to help partners create leads and grow revenues from existing customer bases.

Simplifying the complex

Head of Propositions Gavin Murphy shone a spotlight on making the complex simple. Challenges like the pandemic, Brexit and rising costs, business planning have affected every business, he said.

BT Wholesale keeps one eye on the future to make sure its partners stay competitive with access to all the services their customers need – today, and tomorrow. We are developing data connectivity and professional services portfolios to feed into growth areas such as broadband access and WAN, technical services, voice and collaboration, IoT, mobile, security, and supporting FTTP.

Helping you do business - whenever, and wherever

In more news, our collaboration and VoIP platform is being supercharged with a new portal.

We’ve made hybrid working more accessible through our recent launch of WHC Teams Direct Connect, alongside investments in supporting APIs and solutions.

Plans are also in place for the Partner Hub to facilitate quicker end-to-end journeys, enabling partners to order multiple products seamlessly. And later this year we will introduce a single order journey to help overcome number porting issues.

Now or never

Understandably, the 2025 PSTN switch off was a prominent theme during the event. It is a watershed moment for the channel, with the clock ticking and Openreach committed to its planned shutdown.

This presents incredible opportunities to BT Wholesale partners. Including 14 million hosted cloud voice seats up for grabs ahead of the switch off.

Channel Sales Director Gavin Jones said: “If you want to go where innovation and technology is going, don’t anchor yourself in the past.”

Propositions Specialist Wing Yee Lo wasted no time in focusing on how much needs to happen between now and 2025. She urged partners to make all their customers aware now, and help manage the transition to all-IP. She outlined our professional services offerings, including survey and portfolio analysis, solution design, set up and migration, and managed decommissioning – through more than 2,900 engineers across the UK.

And then it was the turn of Kriss Akabusi MBE to drive home the point that partners need to get on track with all-IP and cross the 2025 finishing line ahead of the pack.

The 1990 European Championships gold medal winner shared key insights on how working more closely in partnership can empower you to win.
