HINTS & TIPS

From now on searching the site has become a lot easier.  To help you get the most out of our new search we've supplied you with a few tips.  The more you use our search engine the better we can make it for you...

1. Search box - to maximise your results, if you don't find what you're looking for initially, broaden your query.

2. Information bar - just as Google does, this tells you what you searched for, how many results were returned and the time taken to retrieve the results.

3. "You could also try" and "Did you mean" - the search will inform you if there is if there is a spelling mistake or an alternative query which may be more beneficial to use.

4. Recommended links - these appear within the blue bar at the top of the search results and are links that we believe are relevant to your search.

5. Icons - tell you what type of page the result links to, for example a pdf, word document or spreadsheet.

6. Omitted results - the search engine will automatically exclude results, especially when there are several pages of results.  If you wish to display all the results just click on the link.

7. Search box - instead of having to scroll back to the top of the page, if you'd like to search again you can use the one at the bottom of the page.
