VoIP Port, an innovative new PBX connectivity service, enables BT's wide area network (WAN) customers to connect their enterprise PBXs - both IP and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) - via their data infrastructure, to a public voice over IP (VoIP) platform. This platform is managed and maintained within BT's core IP network.
Connectivity to a public VoIP platform means that you can migrate all your communications to a single network. All internal and external, outbound and inbound voice communications are all transported via your WAN.
VoIP Port is suitable if you have, or are planning to deploy, a WAN capable of supporting Class of Service (CoS). Currently this includes Cellstream, BT Equip and BTnet Metro VPN. IP Clear will be added to this range in the near future.
