Transit traffic consists of calls, which pass through BT’s trunk network on a route between one Communication Provider (CP) switch and another. The BT Transit service meets the customer need for connectivity with all other CPs and avoids the need for direct interconnection.
We have a proven, reliable, good quality and resilient network offering extensive interconnectivity. We can, within reason, deliver all your customers’ calls.
BT’s Transit product offers simplicity. The CP only needs one contract with BT and one set of routes for all standard transit products thereby removing the overhead of maintaining multiple relationships.
Transit Products fall into the following two categories:
1) BT Transit Telephony CP to CP (Basic) - Cascade Billing i.e., transit products where BT passes on an out payment to the Terminating CP (TCP) or the Originating CP (OCP)
2) TWIX only (where a BT Charge is applied and no out payment is made by BT to a CP) applies to the following three main product areas:
