MP3 cameras will 'need to improve to impress consumers'

The cameras that are included in MP3 players will have to be developed if people are going to be encouraged to use them.

That is according to iLounge, which has said that the cameras will need to be better than the ones in standard mobile phones if consumers are going to use them.

Jeremy Horwitz, editor-in-chief of iLounge, made his comments in light of the news that the Apple's latest iPod nano is expected to include a camera.

He said: "Should Apple's camera be better than the ones in typical cell phones, or be capable of recording both photos and videos, it may be yet another reason for people to carry iPods around in addition to mobile phones."

Mr Horwitz went on to explain that "the camera functionality of the iPhone has made it by far the most popular camera phone on Flickr, far surpassing prior and subsequent competing devices".
