UK firms 'concerned about network performance'

A large number of businesses in the UK are worried about their network performance, it has been claimed.

According to new figures released today (June 1st) by Damovo UK, 82 per cent of firms are concerned about their networks.

However, many are failing to do anything about poor performance, the research indicated.

Over 75 per cent of those questioned said that they do not take a structured approach to the way in which they update or extend their networks.

Glyn Owen, portfolio manager at Damovo UK, commented: "A lot of organisations in the current climate are under severe pressure from their budgets.

"I don't just mean by the capital expenditure they've got available, but also their own resources in terms of perhaps doing the sort of level of planning they need to think about before they put some of these newer applications on their network and what sort of impact that will have."

Businesses and governments will reduce the amount of IT goods and services they purchase by three per cent this year, statistics published in January by Forrester Research indicated.<br/>
