Samsung reveals 12mp camera phone

The world's first 12-megapixel camera phone has been unveiled by Samsung.

Samsung revealed that the Pixon 12 will also have a 28mm wide angle lens and a capture time of two seconds.

Other features on the new phone include a 3.1 inch full AMOLED touchscreen, 150mb of onboard memory and a micro SD slot to add additional memory cards.

Competitors are circling with handsets that also feature a 12mp resolution camera, one of which, the Sony Satio, will be available in October; however Samsung will be the first to release its model.

Consumers who are looking for the best handset, to take photographs with will no doubt look at the 12-megapixel resolution of the new generation of mobiles. However, this does not necessarily equate to better picture quality as this is also dependent on the lens and sensor.

The Pixon 12 is expected to be released in Europe later this month.<br/>
