Spotify App impresses on Android

Spotify has demoed an early version of its first mobile streaming service on Google's Android platform.

The app will allow users to play individual music tracks and playlists, as well as search for new music.

Features include a real-time sync feature, which will enable users to drag and drop tracks onto playlists and have them appear simultaneously on both the mobile device and the computer it is linked to.

It also promises to be able to cache music offline and enable the user to access and play the tracks while not connected to the internet.

Andres Sehr from Spotify told CNET UK that the demoed version is "a fairly advanced demo, (and) we are working on other mobile devices, including iPhone, which would work in a similar fashion".

No exact date has been set for the UK release but further information will be delivered through the company blog.<br/>
