More businesses 'adopting unified communications'

The adoption of unified communications (UC) is increasing, according to one website.

It has been reported by destinationCRM.com that an Infonetics Research study suggests global revenue from hosted UC services will double between 2009 and 2013.

This is because many enterprises are now beginning to trust their email systems to an outside provider, especially as Microsoft Exchange Server is now accepted as an industry standard.

Diane Myers, a directing analyst at Infonetics Research, continued by saying that more and more firms are also turning to voice over-internet protocol solutions, which is also adding support for UC solutions.

"The outsourced option makes a lot of sense," Ms Myers explained. "Businesses wanting to have the product and cost advantage of having an integrated solution can go hosted."

In related news, another money-saving option that may be of interest to companies is cloud computing, which webnewswire.com claims is beneficial to both consumers and providers.<br/>
