Adobe is offering its new web-based presentation application as a download.
The presentation software is free to download from Adobe Labs, the experimental section of the company's website, and is aimed at enabling users to develop, edit and share presentations online.
Features in the preview version, which is now available, include the ability to create layouts, visual special effects and embed video.
Adobe's Business Productivity Unit director of marketing and product management Erik Larson said: "Customers will be able to extend the experience of creating and collaborating on documents into the visual world of presentations."
He added that Presentations builds on the experience of their previous program Buzzword, which "helped people – from office workers and creative professionals to educators and students – express and share their ideas".
The new software will require the, also free to download, Adobe Flash player to also be installed on the users system.
Presentations is a challenger to Microsoft PowerPoint, part of the Office package, which users pay for a license to use.<br/>
