New service pack available for Windows Vista

Microsoft has made the second service pack for Windows Vista available for download.

SP2 is available in both 32mb and 64mb versions and is designed to be a catch-all problem solver.

Many of the patches released for Vista over the last year are included in the download as well as some extras which improve functionality.

The download sizes will be 348mb for the 32mb and 577mb for the 64mb version.

New functionality includes support for Bluetooth 2.1 and Blu-Ray recording as well as improving WiFi performance.

An update for Windows Server 2008 also comes with SP2, which will be automatically rolled out through Windows automatic update system within a couple of weeks.

However, some problems have been reported when using USB 2.0 with the new service pack, a problem that is currently being investigated by the company.

To download SP2, customers must first have SP1 installed on their system.

Microsoft is currently trialing Windows 7, the replacement operating system for Windows Vista.<br/>
