Looking firmly towards the future, ZDNet.co.uk has discussed the use of cloud computing and what it may mean for businesses and their IT departments next year.
According to the website, managers, users and the IT industry are all beginning to adopt the server technology and it has been claimed that it has great potential for 2009.
However, ZDNet.co.uk states that although it is clear that cloud systems mix software-as-a-service, virtualisation and utility or grid computing, "the details, of interoperability, security, manageability, costings and reliability are not".
Therefore, it is likely that there will be some arguments in the future about this mix.
Earlier this month, Compuware stated that there should be openness between firms and their cloud computing service providers so that organisations have a clear idea about how the product is performing.
This will also allow them to have easy access to their data.<br/>
