Mobile Search Provider Recognised for Innovation

Frost & Sullivan (F&S) has presented a mobile search company with its 2008 North American Award for Product Information.

ChaCha was recognised for its discovery of the key requirements of mobile search users and its unique solution that provides enhanced user experiences on the mobile platform.

As well as being efficient and quick, the application also allows for the easy discovery of mobile content, according to F&S, which presented the award following an analysis of the mobile data services industry.

"While online search solutions largely focus on returning relevant listings or links to sites that have the best probability of providing the information the user is looking for, there are certain challenges to replicating this framework in resource-constrained mobile environments," said F&S senior analyst Vikrant Gandhi.

"Mobile data sessions are of relatively smaller durations, and the user-experience can be enhanced by providing accurate and relevant 'answers' instead of links for users."

ChaCha has about 20,000 employees who take questions from the search application and promptly text back answers, free of charge. <br/>
