VoIP Solutions 'Help Firms Cut Costs'

Enterprises looking to cut costs in the face of growing economic pressure should consider installing IP telephony solutions, it has been claimed.

According to specialised internet solutions provider Gradwell, companies installing voice-over-internet (VoIP) systems will realise long-term savings when it comes to their communications.

Peter Gradwell, founder of the company, explained that business VoIP spending has remained strong, despite the fact that many IT departments are being forced to tighten their belts.

"People are trying to save money at the moment and VoIP is one of the things that will help them in the long run," he said, advising companies to upgrade their networks to make the most of IP telephony technology.

Mr Gradwell was echoing the findings of a recent report form Gartner, telecoms accounted for the vast majority of IT spending in 2007.

The analyst forecast that businesses will spend $1.8 trillion (£1 trillion) on telecoms in 2008, an increase of ten per cent over last year's spending.<br/>
