World's 'Most Energy Efficient' Monitor Launched by LG

A monitor which is being touted as the most eco-friendly model of its kind is to be launched later this year.

LG will release the 22-inch widescreen LCD Flatron W2252TE monitor in August.

It has a power draw of 22W, while similar sized monitors would have an average of 40W. This equates to being approximately 45 percent lower.

The W2252TE has a 170-degree viewing angle, two ms response time, 250 cd brightness and a resolution of 1,680 x 1,050.

Commenting on the soon-to-be released monitor, Fiona Landsberg, marketing manager for LG, said: "With the ever increasing time spent by consumers on computers these days, there is a need for products that are more energy efficient.

"We are committed to expanding our 'green' monitor portfolio with products that either equal or better the energy saving provided by the W2252TE."

Pricing details for the eco-monitor are as yet unavailable.
