London mobile conference to look at future of communications

The fourth annual Mobile User Experience Conference (MEX) will take place in London on May 27th and 28th, gathering together the industry's leading figures to discuss the future of mobile communications.

Marek Pawlowski, founder of the MEX, said that a new generation of consumers are preparing to access the internet through their mobile devices for the first time, and called on the IT industry to adjust accordingly.

"MEX helps the mobile telecoms industry to see the world through the customer's eyes. We know that many customers’ real experiences are often a world away from the technology hype spun by the mobile business," he said.

"At the conference, we provide an environment where all of the companies who can make this better for the end customer work together to make real progress on enhancing the usability of mobile phones."

The two day event, which will be held at the Wallacespace, will cover a diverse range of issues affecting mobile communications, including considerations in the design of handset products to new user experience challenges.

Meanwhile, a new study from analyst Research and Markets has revealed that total mobile subscriptions in Europe reached 753.5 million in 2007, with the market being driven by increasing mobile collaboration.
