Bespoke broadband service to be released

An IT services provider has launched a new broadband platform that allows customers to tailor their connection to suit their needs, and pay only for the amount that they use it.

Eclipse Internet provides customer with access to the internet, email, peer-to-peer (p2p), file transfer protocol, and virtual private networking (VPN), and the ability to select the relative priority of these different types of traffic.

"We believe these services will provide our customers with an unparalleled online experience," said Mark Thomas, head of sales at Eclipse. "Broadband users will be able to customise their service to suit their usage – so home workers can optimise their broadband to achieve the best possible connection to their company VPN, for example.

"The inclusive usage limits mean customers pay only for what they use, which also allows us to offer much faster broadband than is achievable with unlimited services."

Packages will include set amounts of data traffic each month, with extra traffic being charged at an additional rate. There will be packages tailored both to home consumers and small and medium businesses (SMBs).<br/>
