Analytical performance management software solutions provider Aim Technology has announced that it is to make its applications available on demand,
The new service, Aim onDemand, will give organisations the opportunity to acquire applications through subscription, as well as providing faster implementation than a traditional software installation.
"In the past, users had to choose between watered-down versions of business intelligence or human capital management applications," said Tony Hayward, chief executive of Aim Technology.
"On-demand applications raise issues around data security and corporate firewalls. We've tackled those issues and provided analytical capabilities that address the needs of service organisations."
According to Gartner, the provision of applications as hosted services online will continue to grow over the next several years, fueled in great part by open source software.
It predicted that open-source applications would be key to the adoption of software-as-a-service (SaaS) platforms, with 90 per cent of SaaS providers using open source in their operating systems, application servers and databases by 2010.
