BT Wholesale is a member of the BT Group plc: the holding company for an integrated group of businesses that provide voice and data services in the UK, elsewhere in Europe and around the world, each with its own distinct, well-defined role and all operating within a regulated environment:
• BT Retail serves the UK business and consumer marketplaces with voice and data services.
• BT Global Services is the global managed services provider that serves multi-site corporate businesses worldwide.
• BT Exact is the IT and operations business and researches, develops and provides the technologies and solutions for BT’s transformation into a global networked IT services company and to meet the needs of the customers of BT Group businesses.
• Openreach was created at the beginning of 2006 to own, maintain and develop the access network which links homes and businesses to the networks of other Communication Providers. This access network, its associated network services and its manpower resources were previously the responsibility of BT Wholesale but are now totally independent from it.
• BT Wholesale provides communications companies with the wholesale services, products and solutions they need beyond network access in order to operate, serve their customers and develop their markets and reach.
