Getting Started

How Do I get Access?

The process comprises several steps, described below:

Phase 1 - Register as a btwholesale.com user

First an individual within a customer organisation must register to become a btwholesale.com user.

Once you have logged in as a BTwholesale.com user you will see B2B Gateway as an application offered under the Connection Online section of Tools and Applications on the right hand side of your window. On selecting B2B Gateway you will be able to see background material about B2B industry activities and BT’s role in these. Additionally BT provides general technical information on B2B and answers to frequently asked questions on the B2B Gateway itself.

BT will also describe in more detail the B2B services available and the general approach to their implementation. Users can then register an interest in one or more of the services to get yet more information.

Phase 2 - Registration of Interest in a Specific B2B Service

The purpose of this registration is to exchange relevant contact information, and to understand the current B2B infrastructure of a trading partner and their integration requirements.

On successful registration BT will provide more technical information on the requested specific B2B Service. The B2B collaborations themselves are made public along with the XML resources which gives a Trading Partner sufficient information to build their XML documents. Example XML documents are given for all messages (in both directions) and the Trading Partner is able to generate and validate their own XML documents.

If you select under the B2B gateway application homepage (located post log-in under tools and application connection online) the service in which you have an interest, you will see that one of the links off this service homepage is a page called Register. Follow the guidance given on this Register page, to register an interest in that service.

Phase 3 - Implementation

Subject to discussion and agreement with your BT Wholesale Account Team, BT will initiate an implementation project to support a Trading Partner in their integration to B2B Gateway for individual B2B services.

The exact project details will depend on the customer and the B2B service to be integrated.

However, all projects involve an initial testing phase with BT’s On-Ramp platform prior to integration to the live B2B
