Planning Management

The Planning Management Team have responsibility for ensuring that a number of components are planned and put in place to support the migration of services on the night of a physical cutover.  The work the Planning Management Team does is designed to support all manner of migrations, which includes both migrations from 20CN to 21CN and other types of global service migration.

Drawing on the knowledge and expertise of specialists across BT, the Planning Management Team produce:-

1. A Playbook for each migration, detailing all the activities that need to be undertaken to ensure a successful service migration with minimum disruption to End User Services.
2. A Tactical Resource Model for each migration that identifies, by name and role, all the resource that is required to execute the activities outlined in the Playbook.
3. A Batch Schedule for each migration, which allows for multiple lines or ports to be aggregated together in batches, minimising the overall out of service time during physical cutover for the End User and providing a structured and efficient method of managing the order of migration of services on the night of cutover.
