BT Wholesale

Welcome to the BT Wholesale EBC pages.

EBC is a mechanism that measures BT network usage by Communications Providers (CPs). It is one of the factors that affect the final price of certain calls and a matrix is provided along with other supporting files to allow CPs to verify bills from BT Wholesale.

EBC was evolved in July 2005 to incorporate the views and requirements requested by Industry to make charging more understandable. There were a number of workshops and conferences prior to the development and related documentation, including, presentation slides from the events, are available from the EBC review link.

Since December 2005, the EBC files have been produced monthly and incorporate the requirements for CPs to bill BT, using EBC, for BT originated NTS calls. A guide for CPs to aid this process is available as a download from this page. The CP specific NTS transit files described in this document are available through a system called DEDS. Details for applying for access to DEDS are provided in Industry Notification 05091 also provided as a download from this page.

A schedule of publication dates for the EBC files on the web and through DEDS can is available as well. These dates have been calculated to allow ten working days between publication of the files and the date they become effective for charging.

Only BT’s interconnect customers are granted access to the EBC files and this is requested through the following registration process: Customers have to already be registered for access to the BT Wholesale Portal (http://www.btwholesale.com/register) and their user profile will be updated for access to the EBC data files link following registration at http://www.btwholesale.com/ebcregistration. Access is usually set up very quickly, but as an authorisation process is followed this may take up to day before a confirmation e-mail is returned.
